SSH is used for remote access from a terminal. In development mode, user defined SSH keys (managed in Security > Keys and certificates) can be used, which are always assigned to user root. In a terminal window on a LAN or internet-connected PC, type

ssh root@<ip-address>

and enter password when prompted. See Managing SSH keys for SSH key handling. In normal mode, only Siemens service credentials and SSH key are permissible.

The device GUI can be accessed remotely over a remote access tunnel, which is created automatically during device onboarding and can be opened from the Devices application. In addition, assigned applications can add other endpoints for specific purposes.
