Smoke Control Requirements

CAUTION

A PX Series Service Box and a PX Series Enclosure are required for UL864 and NFPA92A compliant installations.

For smoke control applications:

  • mount inside a 19‑inch or 34-inch PX Series enclosure (PXA-ENC19 or PXA-ENC34)
  • may be oriented either horizontally or vertically
  • A PXA Series Service Box (PXA-SB115V192VA, PXA-SB115V384VA, PXA-230V192VA, PXA-230V384VA) is installed in the enclosure.

CAUTION

Do not use DC power for Smoke Control Applications.
Equipment damage will occur.

Smoke Control Instructions/Information

  1. Install Smoke Control Listed products, enclosure and transformer. See the Product Numbers and Accessories sections for more information.
  1. Input Rating:
  • PXC5.E24, PXC5.E24.A: PELV, Class 2, AC 24V~, 88 VA, 50/60 Hz, DC 24 V, 77 W, -5 T 50, IP20 Indoor Use Only
  • DC24V 8 W maximum is not used for smoke control applications
  1. Digital Output (DO) are the only I/O authorized for smoke control applications.
    Digital Output (DO) Electrical Ratings:
  • 24 Vac, 6 VA per DO/ maximum 40 VA total
  1. Connection from the automation station to the field panel is a maximum 4000 feet, 24 AWG minimum.

All circuits are power limited; FLN is RS-485 or Ethernet.
