• Activate the Commissioning slider (Inactive to Active).
  • The timeout value defines the duration the KNX IoT to BACnet/IP gateway searches for devices. Set it to the time you need to carry out the next steps.
  • Select near the device and then Start join or select a bulk action to join multiple devices, or swipe to the left on the device entry and select Join in mobile view.
  • Power on extenders by plugging in the power supply adapter. Extenders automatically join the Thread network (left and right LEDs are constant green).
  • Remove the battery isolation strip or insert the batteries in the battery-powered end devices. The devices automatically join the Thread network (each device takes max. 2 minutes).
  • Check if all devices are connected: The state changes from WaitingJoiningJoined.

 

Mount the wireless radiator actuator on the radiator valve prior to connecting to power and to the Thread network.

 

The wireless room sensors indicate joining mode by a green flashing status LED. Fast green flashing status LED indicates active joining. After joining, the status LED is constant green for 8 seconds.

The wireless room unit indicates joining mode by a flashing link icon . Fast flashing link icon indicates active joining. After joining, the link icon is on for 8 seconds.

The wireless radiator actuator indicates joining mode by a flashing . A constantly on wireless icon indicates successful joining and the present temperature setpoint is displayed.

 

When powered on for the first time, each device enters joining mode for 2 minutes. After a 2-minute timeout, joining mode must be entered again by reinserting batteries or pressing the programming button.

 

After initial joining of the devices, the firmware may need to be updated. The system carries out this task automatically without requiring any user interaction. However, the devices may not be able to send and receive data briefly. Ongoing firmware updates are indicated in the device overview (see Device overview).
