An intrinsic alarming criterion is entered when an object is initially defined in the database. During point database entry, you have an option to make the object alarmable and can choose notification class, message number and whether notification is enabled for OFFNORMAL, NORMAL and FAULT conditions.
If intrinsic alarming is used with a time delay of 0 and a proof point is present, two transitions will be observed: to offnormal and then back to normal. This is expected behavior as there is a delay from when the bundled point's present value is commanded and when the physical proof point is updated. Therefore, we recommend configuring the time delay property to a value greater than 0 to avoid generating extra alarms.
