Intrinsic alarming is relatively simple; the point is defined as alarmable and configured with a few basic user supplied alarm criteria. The Notification class object that is selected for the point will contain the corresponding recipient list of destinations that will receive notifications when the point changes state.
Algorithmic alarming monitors a specific point with a separate Event Enrollment object. When the Event Enrollment object detects an event or alarm in the point it is monitoring, it sends a notification to the corresponding recipient list.
