An object that has built-in alarming must be configured before it can indicate that it is in alarm. To configure an object, click to open its Properties. Any object that uses intrinsic alarming must include all the configurable properties defined in this section.

This table outlines the properties that are related to intrinsic alarming. Some properties in the table are configurable and others display information about the object's event status.

Enable event detection

Indicates that intrinsic alarming is enabled in an object. If this property reads Yes, then intrinsic alarming is enabled. If this property reads No, then intrinsic alarming is disabled.

Event enable

Enables or disables the distribution of To offnormal, To fault, and To normal notifications. Click on the property to configure it and then use the drop-down menu to enable or disable a type of notification. Select True to enable notifications and False to disable notifications.

Monitoring time deviation

Specifies the amount of time that must pass between detecting offnormal conditions and sending an event notification. Enter a time in seconds.

Monitoring time deviation to normal

Specifies the amount of time that must pass between detecting to normal conditions and sending an event notification. Enter a time in seconds.

Notification Class

Indicates the instance number of the notification class that will be used for event notification distribution. Enter the instance number of a Notification Class object.

Notification type

Specifies the type of notification that should be generated by the object. Use the drop-down menu to select Alarm or Event.

Configurable event message texts

Allows you to configure the message text that is used for To offnormal, To fault, and To normal event notifications.

Event message texts

A read-only property that displays the message text used for To offnormal, To fault, and To normal event notifications.

Time stamp of event

A read-only property that displays the time of the last To offnormal, To fault, and To normal events.

Acknowledged transitions

A read-only property that indicates the acknowledgment state of To offnormal, To fault, and To normal events. Events that have been acknowledged are True. Events that have not been acknowledged are False.

Acknowledgment credentials

A read-only property that identifies the user or process that acknowledged the most recent To offnormal, To fault, and To normal event notifications.

Time of acknowledgment

A read-only property that indicates the time of the most recent To offnormal, To fault, and To normal event notifications.

Suppress event notification

Allows event functionality to be temporarily disabled. Select Yes to suppress notifications. Select No to continue receiving notifications.

Suppress event detection

Enables or disables events from being detected by the object. Select Yes to suppress event detection. Select No enable event detection.
