The Diagnostics page constains functions for network speed test, endpoint connectivity test and packet capture (PCAP) download.
Network speed
A WAN network connection test, measuring latency, download and upload speed is performed by selecting Start in Network > Diagnostics > Network speed. Note: At least one app has to be installed on the device for the speed test to give any results.
The recommended data speed is 5 Mbps for the cloud connection. At least 1 Mbps should be provided for best user experience. Operating at lower data speeds may cause quality issues and is done at the customer's own risk.
The recommended maximum latency is 250 ms, not exceeding 1 s for best performance.
Network diagnostics
The function Network diagnostics performs connectivity tests to service endpoints in the cloud by selecting Check, and then lists the status of these connections. By expanding a service in the list, the paths (IP addresses) and the reachability status is displayed for all cloud services and proxy servers. In case of service failure, the error cause is shown to aid in troubleshooting.
The button Export creates a report with network diagnostics for download in PDF format.
Network capture
The section Network capture allows packet recordings through tcpdump on any of its interfaces (LAN, WAN, or Wireless WAN). The recording is initiated with the button Start, and is stopped by selecting Stop, or automatically after 30 minutes. The file is retrieved by selecting Download.
The PCAP file can be opened with Wireshark for inspection of packets and troubleshooting at packet level.
