Device access

This section describes how to access the GUI on a gateway which has been onboarded as described in the Quick Install Guides for CXG3.X200, CXG3.X300, and CXG3.X500, respectively. Available access methods are:

Local connection
Remote access tunnel (see Tunnel)
SSH (restrictions apply)

To access through remote tunnel or SSH, these features need to be configured with certificates or key pairs for authentication. In the remainder of the document, the generic URL string https://Connect_IP_or_URL/ should be replaced by either the local IP address of the device if accessed locally, or the tunnel URL if accessed remotely.

Connect gateway is by default hardened as described in Connect Gateway Cybersecurity guidelines, https://siemens.com/bt/download → ID: A6V12604901 (requires login). There is no direct access to the EdgeOS or file system in normal mode (production systems) except SSH login using Siemens service credentials and SSH key - provided SSH has been enabled on the device.
