In order to use the ENERGY STAR service, you must establish a connection between the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and Energy Manager. The next step is to map your buildings to enable data synchronization. A prerequisite for successful configuration is that you already have your Energy Star account and that your portfolio has already been created in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.

For instructions on how to configure your portfolio in the Energy Star Portfolio Manager, refer to the training materials available directly from the Portfolio Manager login screen.

Establishing a connection to Energy Star Portfolio Manager

  1. Go to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (https://portfoliomanager.energystar.gov) and log in with your ENERGY STAR account.
  1. Open the tab MyPortfolio and select Contacts > Add new contacts/Connections.
  • Add Contact page with several search criteria opens.
  1. Enter SI_Energy_Services in the Username field and select Search. SI_Energy_Services is the global Siemens account.
  1. Select Siemens Smart Infrastructure and on the next page select Send Connection Request
    .
  1. Go to Energy Manager > Configuration > Connectors and in the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager card select More > Setup.
  • The Authenticate page opens.
  1. Enter your ENERGY STAR user name and password and select Authenticate.
  1. Go to the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, open the tab Sharing and select the option Share with your Utility or Service Provider for exchanging data.
  • Share properties for exchanging data page opens.
  1. Use the Select Web Services Provider (Account) dropdown to select Siemens Smart Infrastructure.
  1. Click on the Select properties button.
  • List of buildings available in your ENERGY STAR account displays.
  1. Use checkboxes to select buildings to be later mapped in Energy Manager. When done, select Apply selection.
  1. In the Choose permissions section, select Bulk sharing (Simple Option) > Exchange Data Full Access.
  1. Once you have configured all sharing options, press the Authorize Exchange button.
  • Connection between the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and Energy Manager is established.

Mapping buildings in Energy Manager

  • The connection to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager has been successfully established and data exchange authorized.
  1. In Energy Manager open Configuration > Connectors.
  1. Select the More button on the ENERGY STAR card and select Edit.
  • The Mapping page opens. By default, the Building mapping page is selected.
    Buildings retrieved from ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager are displayed on the left.
  1. Select Synchonize to automatically map any existing Building X buildings that match buildings from the ENERGY STAR portfolio manager.
  1. For any unmapped buildings, do the following:
  • Existing Building X buildings: Use the dropdown next to each of the buildings to choose the corresponding building from your Building X portfolio. The highlighted chain icon indicates successful mapping. Option: If needed, you can use the button to remove the mapping for a single building
  • Non-existing Building X : Select the checkbox next to the ENERGY STAR portfolio building that does not yet have a Building X building created. Then select Create buildings. A building with the same address is created and matched to the portfolio building.
  1. Select Next.
  1. From the Overview page all the mapped buildings display. From here you can:
  • Refresh: Update the view with the latest building data.
  • Sync data: Retrieve the latest ENERGY STAR score from the Portfolio Manager.
  • Show ENERGY STAR: Open the ENERGY STAR page.
  • View Mapping: Go to the previous page where you mapped the buildings with the portfolio.

Now that the buildings are mapped, you can proceed with mapping the meters from the buildings.

Mapping Meters in Energy Manager

Buildings from the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager that are mapped to buildings in Building X , can also map their meters to the Building X buildings. However, the meters must already exist in Building X.

On the 10th of each month meter readings are taken from the portfolio manager site.

Any meters you do not want to include in the ENERGY STAR Portfolio must be removed from the site itself.

  • The connection to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager has been successfully established and data exchange authorized.
  • You have mapped Building X buildings to the ENERGY STAR portfolio manager. See procedure above.
  1. In Energy Manager open Configuration > Connectors.
  1. Select the More button on the ENERGY STAR card and select Edit.
  • The Mapping page opens.
  • From the dropdown menu, select Meter mapping.
    Meters retrieved from ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager are displayed on the left.
  1. Expand the building whose meters you want to add to Building X .
  • The associated meters display and the Search bar and Filter is enabled.
  1. For each meter you want to match, from the dropdown menu, select or use the search from within the dropdown menu to select the matching meter.
  • The highlighted chain icon indicates successful mapping. Option: If needed, you can select the button to remove the mapping for a single meter or select Delete mappings to remove all.
  1. Select Next.
  1. From the Overview page all the mapped buildings and meters now display. From here you can:
  • Refresh: Update the view with the latest building data.
  • Sync data: Retrieve the latest ENERGY STAR score from the Portfolio Manager.
  • Show ENERGY STAR: Open the ENERGY STAR page.
  • View Mapping: Go to the previous page where you mapped the buildings with the portfolio.
