Installing a new Connect Software

The instructions below outline how to install the Connect Software with a new installation image and token. Use one of two options how to run the MSI as an Administrator.

  1. Option 1 how to run the MSI as an Administrator:
  • Select the admin script (registry file) you downloaded in the previous step and right-click it.
  • Select Merge.
  • Accept the security warning to execute.
  • Accept the user account control message.
  • Accept the Registry Editor security warning.
  • Select Yes to continue
  • The keys and values contained in the registry script have been successfully added to the registry.
  • Go to the location where SiemensConnectSoftware.msi file is saved, right-click on it, and select Run as administrator.
  • The Siemens Connect Software Setup wizard opens.
  1. Option 2 how to run the MSI as an Administrator:
  • Open Command Prompt application from Windows.
  • Use the Command line to go to the location where the SiemensConnectSoftware.MSI is saved.
  • Run the following command:
    msiexec /i SiemensConnectSoftware.msi.
  • The Siemens Connect Software Setup wizard opens.
  1. Select Next.
  1. Read and accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next.
  1. In the Paste Installation Token here field, paste the token that you generated from the Devices application.
  1. Select Next.
  1. Select the appropriate choice for RAM (GB), Number of virtual processors, Connection Type and Hard disk size (GB).

Hard disk size is dynamically allocated and is dependent on consumption. For basic configuration we recommend at least 2GBs Hard Disk Size.

  1. Select Next > Install.
  • Siemens Connect Software is installed successfully.

Optional: To remove the install a program as an Administrator option from the .MSI you need to merge a specific script. Please contact your local Siemens Customer Support Center to get the necessary scripts.
