Control function
The control function of the controller is selected here. The following options are available:
- Dynamic control valve
- Differential pressure control *)
- >>> Flow temperature control <<<
- Heating circuit outside temperature compensated flow temperature control
- Control valve for changeover

Setpoint source
The source of the setpoint for the selected control function is defined here.
Flow temperature control requires an external setpoint from an automation station. The following options are available:
- Analog (input X1)
- Network (BACnet/IP)
- Network (Modbus RTU)
Input X1
The configuration of input X1 results from the selected control function and the setpoint source.
The input is only active, if "Analog (input X1)" is selected as the setpoint source. If a network setpoint source ("BACnet/IP" or "Modbus RTU") is selected, input X1 can be used for a monitoring pressure sensor.
Signal type selection for X1
The following options are available for the signal type on X1:
- 0…10 V
- 2…10 V
- 4…20 mA
Note: In this control function, the signal is mapped to 0…100 °C.
Output X2
For output X2, a calculated analog value can be selected from a list. The following options are available:
- Primary flow temperature: 0…100 % (TFlPrim)
- If this option is selected, the "Process value 2 for prim.flow temp.out" can be set (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0…150 °C)
- Primary return temperature: 0…100 % (TRtPrim)
- If this option is selected, the "Process value 2 for prim.return temp.out" can be set (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0…150 °C)
- Flow/return temperature difference: 0…100 % (TDiffFlRt)
- Relative volume flow: 0…100 %
- Valve position: 0…100 % (VlvPosFb)
- Relative power: 0…100 % of design power *)

Signal type selection for X2
The following options are available for the signal type on output X2:
- 0…10 V
- 2…10 V
- 4…20 mA
Input X3
Input X3 is fixed to "Secondary flow temperature" in flow temperature control.
Signal type selection for X3 (secondary flow temperature sensor)
The following sensing elements are available as options for the signal type on input X3:
- Siemens LG-Ni1000 (e.g. Siemens QAD22 or QAE2120)
- Ni1000 (DIN)
- Pt1000 (EU)
- 0…10 V (e.g. Siemens QAE2164)
- If this option is selected, the temperature range of the terminal value can be set within 0...10 °C (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Heating control" > "Process value 1 for flow temp.input" [-40...20 °C] / "Process value 2 for flow temp.input" [35...110 °C])
In this control function, Intelligent Valve configures input X3 for the secondary flow temperature measurement and operates the PI control circuit.
