In the control function "Flow temperature control", Intelligent Valve assumes the role of the automation station in HVAC applications. Using an auxiliary flow temperature sensor [X3], it acquires the flow temperature and controls to the present temperature setpoint by adjusting the volume flow of the ports A and B. Possible sensor types at [X3] are passive sensors with sensing elements LGNi-1000, DIN-Ni-1000 or Pt1000 (385/EU), or active sensors (e.g. 0...10 V = -10...120 °C). The temperature setpoint can be supplied externally, remotely via BACnet IP and Modbus RTU, or analog at [X1] (0...10 V = 0...100 °C). The secondary pump is released by relay [Q1] as soon as the setpoint for the secondary flow temperature is > 0 °C.
The factory setting for the Intelligent Valve application is 2-port; for EXG../EXF.., the object VlvDsgn (Valve design) must be changed to "3-port" in ABT Go or ABT Site.
