Control function
The control function of the controller is selected here. The following options are available:
- Dynamic control valve

- Flow temperature control
- Heating circuit outside temperature compensated flow temperature control
- Control valve for changeover

Setpoint source
The source of the setpoint for the selected control function is defined here. The following options are available:
- Network (BACnet/IP) - optional: manual via ABT Go
- Network (Modbus RTU) (supported from version 09.54.14.11 onwards)
Output X2
For output X2, a calculated analog value can be selected from a list. The following options are available:
- Primary flow temperature: 0…100 % (TFlPrim)
- If this option is selected, the "Process value 2 for prim.flow temp.out" can be set (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0…150 °C)
- Primary return temperature: 0…100 % (TRtPrim)
- If this option is selected, the "Process value 2 for prim.return temp.out" can be set (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0…150 °C)
- Flow/return temperature difference: 0…100 % (TDiffFlRt)
- Relative volume flow: 0…100 %
- Valve position: 0…100 % (VlvPosFb)
Configuration 1: Differential pressure sensor (X3)
Input X3
Input X3 is fixed to "Primary differential pressure" in configuration 1 of differential pressure control.
Signal type selection for X3
Several sensing elements are available as options for the signal type on input X3. In differential pressure control with configuration 1, they are the following:
- Siemens QBE3000-D1.6
- Siemens QBE3000-D2.5
- Siemens QBE3000-D4
- Adjustable measuring range (0...10 V)
- This setting allows defining the differential pressure sensor measuring range: 1…Max. kPa, where Max. = "Process value 2 for diff.press.primary" (ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0...1000 kPa)
In this application, Intelligent Valve configures input X3 to the differential pressure control and operates the PI control circuit.
Configuration 2: 2 pressure sensors (X1, X3)
Input X1
Input X1 is fixed to "Pressure sensor" in configuration 2 of differential pressure control.
Signal type selection for X1
Several sensing elements are available as options for the signal type on input X1. In differential pressure control with configuration 2, the measuring range for X1 is adjustable:
- 0...10 V
- 2...10 V
- 4...20 mA
This allows defining the pressure sensor measuring range: Min...Max. kPa, where:
- Min. = "Process value 1 for pressure"
- Max. = "Process value 2 for pressure"
- ABT Go: "Commissioning" > "Valve", 0...1000 kPa
Input X3
Input X3 is fixed to "Pressure sensor" in configuration 2 of differential pressure control.

Several sensing elements are available as options for the signal type on input X3. In differential pressure control with configuration 2, the measuring range for X3 is adjustable:

In this application, Intelligent Valve configures inputs X1 and X3 to the pressure measuring points, calculates the difference between these and operates the PI control circuit. The calculated difference is available as "Present primary differential pressure" (PrDiffPPrim).
