Writing (Established Method): writing is the process in which the centralized management system, specifically the FIN framework, sends or "writes" the schedule information to BACnet devices. This ensures that all devices operate according to a unified and centralized schedule as orchestrated by the central system.
Reading (Newer Feature): Reading a newer feature in the synchronization toolkit. This process allows any manual adjustments or overrides made directly on the BACnet devices to be retrieved, or "read," by the FIN framework. This bidirectional functionality is crucial for capturing local adjustments or manual overrides at endpoints, ensuring that the centralized FIN management system maintains up-to-date schedule data for each device.
This integration of reading with the established writing function creates a comprehensive bidirectional synchronization process, enhancing the centralized oversight of dynamic building management. Reading and writing each respectively make possible two forms of building control, centralized and distributed.
