The Devices app also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates of child devices behind a gateway.
- You are in Devices.
- Operating system updates are available. Blue information icon is displayed in column OS.
- (Optional) In the search bar, apply filters Operating system updates pending and Connection status: Online.
- All connected devices that are online and with pending operation system updates are displayed in the table.
- Select the devices you want to update.
- Select More > Update.
Updating child devices
Child devices are shown when you open the edge gateway. You can select multiple child devices for operating system updates. When updating child devices, please follow these basic rules:
- Never select the edge gateway and child device concurrently. A reboot of the edge gateway breaks the operating system update of the child device.
- Do not mix different child device types. Update the border router first and then update the other child devices. The border router supplies the child devices and its reboot interrupts their update process.
