Adding a device with an activation key

  1. Go to Sites.
  1. Select the site where you want to add your device.
  1. Select Add.
  1. Enter the device activation key and select Validate.

The device activation key can be found in the device UI. The device UI is a web interface and can be accessed using local connection.

For Intelligent Valves the device activation key is printed on the device.

For Desigo Optic the device activation key can be found in the Operation tab of the Config UI.
Due to a defect, a "device not found" error message will then appear. At this time, the device will not appear upon validation until a manual reset of the F200 is performed. Reboot the device and return to the page.

  1. (Optional) Confirm the Custom name of your device.
  1. (Optional) Confirm the Custom description of your device.

Defining or changing custom name of the device, only affects the display name in the cloud. The Custom name and Custom description fields are optional.

  1. (Optional) Confirm the External identifier of your device.

The External identifier (optional) can be used for additional, customized asset tracking functionality. It can also be used for other types of information exchange with other systems via Building X API's. Select the External identifier that complies with the following guidelines:
• At least 8 characters.
• Letters, numbers and combinations are supported.
• Uppercase and lowercase letters are supported.
• Symbols are not supported.

  1. Select Add to confirm.

Adding a Connect box

  1. Go to Sites.
  1. Select the site where you want to add your device.
  1. Select Add.
  1. Enter the Api Key and Api Secret and select Log in.

The Api Key and Api Secret can be generated in Connect box web interface.

  1. Select your device from the list and select Add.
  1. (Optional) Enter the Custom name of your device.
  1. (Optional) Enter the Custom description of your device.

Defining or changing the custom name of the device only affects the display name in the cloud. The Custom name and Custom description fields are optional.

  1. Select Add to confirm.
