The Cerberus PACE Compact 'PACE-Net' network is based on a standard Ethernet with 100 Mbit/s with CAT5 copper wiring. Cerberus PACE Compact network components are required to connect Ethernet-enabled Cerberus PACE Compact system components. These components are used for 'PACE-Net', which is an Ethernet-based network in distinction to the 'PACE-Bus', which forms a network via serial interfaces.

Ethernet switches

Ethernet switches are used to connect individual Cerberus PACE Compact network components, such as Cerberus PACE Compact system and call stations. The Ethernet switches can be connected to a 'PACE-Net' network of up to 1350 network participants.

The Cerberus PACE Compact network components feature two independent network connections. These Ethernet connections combined with Ethernet switches can be used to build a fully redundant network.

All Cerberus PACE Compact Ethernet switches feature standard Ethernet sockets (RJ45) for the connection of Cerberus PACE Compact network components. Adapters can be fitted to create further interfaces for maximum flexibility in network cable selection. Users can choose between 100 Mbit/s Ethernet and various fiber-optic adapters in any frequency range, from multi-mode to single-mode.

Media converter

The media converter converts a CAT5 copper-based Ethernet section to fiber-optic based Ethernet section.

Fiber-optic adapters

Fiber-optic adapters allow the user to establish a fiber-optic connection between two network devices, such as an Ethernet switch and a media converter. A fiber-optic adapter must be connected to the SFP interface of each network device.

The type of fiber-optic adapter to use depends on the network device and the distance between the two devices.

Repeater (CAT5) PNA2007-A1

The Cerberus PACE Compact 'PACE-Net' network is based on a standard Ethernet with 100 Mbit/sec and CAT5 cables. A standard Ethernet is usually limited to a length of 100 m.

The PNA2007-A1 makes it possible to extend the CAT5 cable by an extra of 100 m.

The PNA2007-A1 requires a line voltage of DC 24 V.
