Only the 'Power amplifier (1x500W)' PV1002-A1 can be mounted in the 'Voice alarm panel Compact 1000' PC1002-A3 cabinet. Other amplifier types are not allowed.

The power amplifiers PV1002-A1 are mounted in the amplifier mounting area. They are connected to the digital audio matrix board in the amplifier connecting area. Up to 6 PV1002-A1 can be mounted in one PC1002-A3 cabinet.

NOTICE
Make sure that the system is in Off-Mode and the 230 V and the batteries are both disconnected before the power amplifiers PV1002-A1 are mounted.
PC1002-A3 power amplifiers connection overview

To mount the power amplifier in the amplifier mounting area, the pre-assembled power supply must be removed by following the steps below:

  1. Disconnect all the wiring from the power supply.
  1. Unscrew the 4 screws on the power supply.
  1. Take out the power supply.

There are 2 amplifiers pre-mounted on position 'Amp 1' and 'Amp 2'. The additional amplifiers are mounted on the selected position in the amplifier mounting area.

PC1002-A3 power amplifiers mounting positions

The amplifier on position 'Amp 5' is used as the pilot tone amplifier. The amplifier on position 'Amp 6' is used as a backup amplifier. These two amplifiers can’t be used as regular amplifiers with speaker lines connected.

Follow the steps below to mount the power amplifier PV1002-A1 on PC1002-A3:

  • Remove the protection foil from the rear of the amplifier before it is mounted.
  1. Screw the 2 lower screws of the amplifier onto the selected position of the amplifier mounting area.
  1. Use these 2 screws as a support to the amplifier and put the amplifier into place.
  1. Use the upper 2 screws to fix the amplifier and tight the lower screws.
  1. Connect the speaker cable to the designated speaker line plug.
  1. Mount and screw the amplifier matrix adapter onto the designated position in the connection area.
  1. Use the CAT5 cable to connect the RJ45 connector on the amplifier to the RJ45 connector on the amplifier matrix adapter. (This cable is not used as an Ethernet connection. It is used for the analog audio in, and for the control and status information.)
  1. Connect the amplifier to the mains connector X102 with the 230 V wiring to build the internal 230 V wiring.
  1. Connect the 24 V wiring.
  1. Mount the other required power amplifiers PV1002-A1 as described in steps 1...8.
  1. Re-mount the power supply with 4 screws and connect all the wiring.
  1. Connect the amplifiers 24 V wiring to the power supply.
