The ring topology meets the requirements of the standard EN 54ā€‘16.

The ring topology is the standard topology.

The ring topology has the same function as the chain topology. The difference to the chain topology is that the final Ethernet switch is connected to the first to form a ring.

The ring topology can accommodate a maximum of 32 hubs.

Single redundant ring topology

Ring topology, single, redundant
NOTICE
'Ethernet switch (1x4)' PN1001-A1 and 'Ethernet switch (1x4, DIN rail)' PN2008-A1 can't be used for the ring topology

Use 'Planet IGS-10020MT Ethernet Switch' PN2005-A1 instead

Double redundant ring topology

The double redundant ring topology can increase protection against failure and exceeds the requirements of the standard EN 54-16.

Each digital audio matrix and each network participant are connected redundantly via the Ethernet ports to two Ethernet switches A and B.
