Desigo Optic is context-sensitive.

A graphic is a symbol attached to attributes that represent Sites, Floors, Equips, Points, or other data.

The Graphics tree allows you to view the points associated with graphics data.

  1. Select > System Integrator Apps > DB Builder .

  1. Select the Graphics Tree.

① Edit a Graphic

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Edit .
  • The Warning dialog box displays, confirming to open the Graphics Builder.
  1. Click OK.

② Delete a Graphic

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Delete .
  • The Warning dialog box displays, confirming that the graphic will be deleted.
  1. Click Delete.
  1. Click Refresh .
  • The Graphics Tree is updated.

③ Make Graphic a Default

When you make a graphic the default, a tag is added to the graphic. When an object is linked to multiple graphics, the default tag informs the system that one graphic contains the preferred characteristics.

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Make Default .
  • The Make Default button becomes clickable.

④ Remove Default Status from a Graphic

  1. Select the graphic that was assigned as the default.
  1. Click Remove Default .
  • The Remove Default button becomes clickable.

⑤ Batch Tags

The Batch Tags function allows you to apply several tags to a graphic in one occurrence.

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Select Batch Tags .
  • The Graphics Batch Tags dialog box displays.
  • Select the graphics to be modified.
    To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records
  • Type filter names in the box or select Filter to choose filter names from a list.
  • Add tags in the Tag box.
  1. Click Apply.

⑥ Copy Data From a Graphic

You can copy elements and element types from one graphic for use in other locations.

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Copy from Graphic .
  • The Copy From Graphic dialog box displays.
  • Select the graphic to copy from the drop-down list.
    To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records.
  • Select the element types.
  • Select the elements to copy.
  • Select the graphics to apply the characteristics.
  1. Click Apply.

⑦ Delete Records

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Delete Records .
  • The Graphics Delete Records dialog box displays.
  • Select the records to be deleted.
    To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records.
  • Type filter names in the text box or select Filter to select filter names from a list.
  1. Click Apply.

⑧ Edit GraphicOn

The graphicOn field includes tags that inform the system of the graphics to be used with specific Sites, Floors, and Equipment.

  1. Select the graphic.
  1. Click Edit GraphicOn .
  • The Set graphicOn dialog box displays.
  1. Click Filter.
  • The Filter Editor dialog box displays.
  1. Set parameters for Conditions, All Tags, Any Tags, and Condition Groups.

  1. Click OK.
  • The Filter Editor dialog box displays.
  1. Click Confirm to confirm your selection.
  • The program returns to the Set graphicOn dialog box.
    The updated parameters are shown in the Graphic On Filter field.
  1. Select OK.
  • The graphicOn column of the Graphics list is updated.

See Locations Where a Graphic is Used

  1. To see all the locations where a graphic is used, select the Graphics tree.
  • A graphics list displays.
  1. Select the drop-down arrow for the desired graphic.
  • Tiles containing location information are displayed for each occurrence the graphic is used in the project.
