This tool makes it easier to create BACnet devices across the BACnet server database.
Prerequisites:
- This tool is for the bacnetServer extension.
- Make sure that extension is enabled for the changes to work, and also make sure finBacnetExt is enabled in your Settings app as well.
How to use Create BACnet Devices
- Expand the Equip Tree and select a type of available equip(s).
- Click Tools.
- The Tools dialog box displays.
- In the Tools dialog box, select create BACnet Devices.
- The Auto Configure BACnet Devices dialog box displays with required fields.
- Fill out the required fields and then click Apply.
Field | Description |

Selected Equips | Displays the IDs of the equips selected. You can also use tags or the Filter button to filter based on those tags. |
Select BACnet Instance Start | Choose where the instances to start at. |
Select BACnet MAC Address | Choose the starting MAC Address. |
Select Iteration | This is the iteration between the BACnet devices. |
BACnet Network Number | Choose any network number as long as it does not conflict with any others. |
Registered BACnet Servers | Scans all projects, if there are multiple and lists the network numbers to avoid conflict. |
Write Local Address | Allows you to choose if you want to add BACnet Local Address. |
BACnet Local Address | Decide what to set the BACnet local address (Server Bind Address) as. |
Run Manual Configuration | If you wish to do all the configuration manually, you can do so by checking the box and clicking Apply without filling out the top menu portion. |
If you selected Run Manual Configuration, the Manually Configure BACnet Devices dialog box displays.

Equip, ID, Instance # MAC Address | Display all selected/filtered equipment. Manually configure the instance # and MAC address for each individually. |
BACnet Network Number | Select any network number as long as it does not conflict with any others. |
Registered BACnet Servers | Scans all projects if there are multiple and list network numbers are to conflict. |
Write Local Address | Add BACnet Local Address. |
BACnet Local Address | Set the BACnet Local address (Server Bind Address). |
