The Add Tags by Name tool allows you to mass edit/create tags in batch. Regex expressions are allowed.

How to use Add Tags by Name

  1. Open the Equip tree and select the type of point(s) to update.
  1. Click Tools.
  • The Tools dialog box displays.
  1. In the Tools dialog box, select Advanced > Batch Tagging > Add Tags by Name.

Description

Filter

What you want the form to run on. It is automatically filled in for you based on what was selected in the available objects. However, this is going to apply to all points using the filter to know what to populate in the Column section.

Column

What tag you want to add this change to. (i.e navName, ID, imageRef etc). By default, it is set to navName, which where the majority of changes happen.

Paste Tabular Data Here

After completing all changes wanted in an Excel sheet, copy and paste that data in the spot provided to generate the data.

 

  1. Select any column and click Ctrl + C to copy the grid data.
  1. Paste in Excel.
  1. The columns in Excel are:
  • Row 1: Customized with tags to add or remove based on navName.
  • Row 2: Make the point schedulable on 15 and also include the scheduleRef.
  • Row 3: Adding tags to the AirFlow if they are missing.
  • Row 4: This will add a string property tag description and leave it blank. If you want to add something, include it within the quotes.
  • Row 5: If one was not modified and/or left it blank, it will just skip it.
  • Row 6: Anything begininng with Room will get the zone tag. (i.e: Room Temp).
  • Row 7: Anything that ends with Setpoint will get the sp tag and remove the sensor tag if it has it. (i.e: AirFlow Setpoint).
  • Row 8: Anything that contains Rm has the zone tag added. (i.e: Rm Humidity).
  1. Copy the data like the above image and paste that in Paste Tabular Data Here.
  1. Click Apply and then the form will execute the change to all the points.
