This section provides procedures for configuring data point events in the Operations Manager app.

Only use this feature with data points that have no event behavior applied in their native field network or Edge app.

For all data points

  1. Select Launchpad > Operations Manager.
  1. From the multi-site Overview page, select a site.
  1. Go to Building hierarchy or Devices.
  1. Expand the device that contains the data point you want to configure.
  • Next steps: depending on the data point type, do one of the following:

 

For two-state data points

  1. Select the data point.
  1. Under Event settings, do the following:
  • From the State dropdown list, select an event state.
  • From the Category dropdown list, select the appropriate event category.
  • To enable the configuration, turn the Activated toggle on.
  • You have configured the event.

 

For high-low value data points

  1. Select the data point.
  1. Under Event settings, do the following:
  • In the Low limit field, enter a low limit value for the event, or use the up and down arrows.
  • In the High limit field, enter a value that is higher than the low limit, or use the up and down arrows.

    NOTE:
    If the value is equal to or less than the low limit value, the event configuration is disabled.
  • From the Category dropdown list, select the appropriate event category.
  • To enable the configuration, turn the Activated toggle on.
  • You have configured the event.

 

For multi-state data point

  1. Select the data point.
  1. Under Event settings, do the following:
  • From the State dropdown list, select an event state.
  • From the Category dropdown list, select the appropriate event category.
  • To enable the configuration, turn the Activated toggle on.
    NOTE: If all or no states are selected, the Event settings section is in Read-Only mode and the Activated toggle cannot be enabled.
  • You have configured the event.

 

For an event message

To create or edit an event message you must have a Standard or Advanced role.

  1. From the multi-site Overview page, select a site.
  1. Go to Building hierarchy or Devices.
  1. Expand the device that contains the data point you want to configure.
  1. Select the data point.
  1. In the Event message field, enter the text for the event.
  1. The text is automatically saved after you place the cursor anywhere outside the text box.
  • A blue border around the text message indicates the text is saved.
  • A red border indicates the text is not saved as it exceeds the 1000-character limit.
