This section provides procedures for configuring data point events in Operations Manager.
NOTE: Only use this feature with data points that have no alarm behavior applied in their native field network or Edge application.
For all data points
- Go to Equipment.
- Expand the equipment that contains the data point you want to configure.
- Next steps: depending on the data point type, do one of the following:
For a Boolean data point
- Select the Boolean data point.
- Under Event configuration, do the following:
- From the State drop-down menu, select an alarmable state.
- From the Category drop-down menu, select the appropriate event category.
- Enable the configuration by switching the toggle button.
- You have configured the event.
For a Multi-state data point
- Select the Multi-state data point.
- Under Event configuration, do the following:
- From the State drop-down menu, select an alarm state.
- From the Category drop-down menu, select the appropriate event category.
- Enable the configuration by switching the toggle button.
NOTE: If all or no states are selected, the Event configuration is in Read-Only mode and the toggle button can’t be enabled.
- You have configured the event.
For a Numeric data point
- Select the Numeric data point.
- Under Event configuration, do the following:
- In the Low limit field, enter a low limit value for the alarm, or use the up and down arrows.
- In the High limit field, enter a value that is higher than the low limit, or use the up and down arrows.
NOTE: If the value is equal to or less than the low limit value, the event configuration is disabled.
- From the Category drop-down menu, select the appropriate event category.
- Enable the configuration by switching the toggle button.
- You have configured the event.
