The following installation and configuration are necessary, if Siveillance Control should use the internal player. To access the camera recordings and livestreams in the video client, you have to install the VMS provider and the Video API plugin on the Siveillance Control computer. Furthermore, the VMS server authentication(s) need to be added to the Windows credential manager on the Siveillance Control computer.

Installing the VMS Provider

When installing the VMS provider, we recommend using the default directories. This ensures a simple update of the player by performing the corresponding installer.

  • You are logged in as user with administrative rights on a Siveillance Control client.
  1. Depending on the subsystem, perform the following .msi files:
  • Siveillance Video: MilestoneProviderInstaller.msi
  • Milestone XProtext: MilestoneProviderInstaller.msi
  1. Mark Plugin and mark Provider.
  1. Run the installation.

Installing the Video API

When installing the Video API, we recommend using the default directories. This ensures a simple update of the player by performing the corresponding installer.

  • You are logged in as user with administrative rights on a Siveillance Control client.
  1. Perform the InstallVideoApi.msi file.
  1. Click Next.
  1. Make sure that only the following components are marked for installation:
  • API Proxy
  • Media Player
  1. Unmark Video API Service.
  1. Click Next.
  1. Click Install.
  1. Click Finish.
  1. Restart the computer.

Configuring Access to the VMS Server in the Credential Manager

To access the camera recordings and livestreams it is necessary to add the credential for the VMS server in the Microsoft credential manager. If the VMS is installed in a federated system, credentials for all VMS servers have to be added.

  • You are logged in as user with administrative rights on a Siveillance Control client.
  1. Open Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager.
  1. In the Windows Credentials section, click Add a generic credential.
  1. Enter the following information:
  • Internet or network address: Enter the URL of the VMS server.
  • User name: Enter a VMS username that has administrative and SDK privileges on the VMS.
  • Password: Enter a password.
  1. Click OK.
