The following settings are recommended for the Video API service user account:
- The Video API service runs as a named Windows user account and not as anonymous Local Service or Network Service.
- The selected user account is used exclusively for Video API and is not be shared with other tasks.
- A normal domain or local user account without administrator rights is used.
- For Windows 10, the user account has to be Administrator.
- For Server 2012 R2 the user account has to at least be in the Administrators group.
In a Windows domain, you can create a domain account and use it on all computers in the domain. In a Windows workgroup environment, a local user account installed with the same name and password must be created on all computers where Video API service and Siveillance VMS are running.
It is recommended to provide the Video API service user account during the installation through the MSI installer. The installer will create the service that runs in the provided user account.
For more information refer to the Video API documentation that can be found in the documentation folder of the release bundle.
