For a redundant OIS connection, two OIS are installed.

The diagram shows the communication between Siveillance Control where OIS (1) is the active connection. That means communication between Siveillance Control and subsystem takes place only through OIS (1). If connection to OIS (1) fails, the connection switches automatically to OIS (2). A restart of OIS (2) connection is performed so that no information is lost, that could occur during the switchover.

Preconditions for redundant OIS connection:

  1. The license for redundant OIS has been purchased and is included in the license file.
  2. It is strongly recommended to install OIS on two separate servers.
  3. For more information refer to: OIS Installation
  4. The subsystem needs to be capable of two interfaces to OIS.
  5. For more information, refer to: Subsystem documentation?
  6. The configuration of the subsystem in OIS needs to be the same on both OIS:
    • The same subsystem data point export needs to be imported on both OIS.
    • For more information, refer to: Subsystem Configuration.
    • The Unit name and the Cu-Handler configuration must be identical on both OIS.
    • For more information, refer to: Configuring the Cu-Handler Unit and Devices
    • When changes are necessary in the OIS configuration, make sure to change to the same values on both OIS.
  7. When creating a redundant OIS connection in Siveillance Control two connectors are automatically created. Connection data of OIS (1) and OIS (2) configuration need to be put in. For more information, refer to: Creating and Editing the Redundant OIS Connection
