Siveillance Control is a client server application. The Siveillance Control client is started by means of an URL in a browser. The login and launch dialogs are displayed in the language set in the browser. English is the default language if no translation is available.

In addition to the requirements relevant for the IT security and planning phase, the following requirements have to be fulfilled for working with the Siveillance Control client:

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit version) with current security patches has been installed.
  • OpenJDK8U-jre_x64_*_8u372-b07 or higher has been installed. Make sure that only a 64-bit version is installed.
  • A network connection between the Siveillance Control client and server has been established.
  • Either Mozilla Firefox or Chrome has been installed and is displayed.
  • The Siveillance Control server has been started.
  • The Windows user is a local administrator.
  1. To start an engineering or a runtime client for the first time, enter the following URL:
    https://[hostname]:8443/login, for example https://siveillancecontrol-ee-208:8443/login or https://siveillancecontrol-rt-209:8443/login.
  1. Enter the following login data:
  • User: Log in as default user with engineer or admin.
  • Password: Enter the password aloxerv after the installation. The existing password is not changed after an update or upgrade. Enter your password.
  • Language: Select a language.
  1. Click Download Launcher.
  • A ZIP file is being downloaded.
  1. Open the file explorer and find the zipped folder.
  1. To unzip the entire folder, right-click and select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
  1. Double-click the folder to open it.

To quickly access the Siveillance Control client, create a shortcut to the SiveillanceControlLauncher.exe file on your desktop.

  1. Double-click the SiveillanceControlLauncher.exe file to start the client.
  • The launcher immediately starts to download the Siveillance Control application.
  1. In the login dialog, enter the following data:
  • User: Enter the username to log in with.
  • Password: Enter your password.
  1. Click Log In.
  • The login button is grayed out for ten seconds and you are unable to log in if the username or password are incorrect.
  • After three unsuccessful login attempts, an alarm message is generated in the Events/Messages perspective and is distributed to all workstations.
  1. In the login dialog, select a workstation.
  1. Click Start.
  1. Change the password once the client is started for the first time and click Finish.
