This section describes the required steps necessary for the Siveillance Control installation as well as important options. Siveillance Control is operated together with the Open Interface Services (OIS) gateway module. The following figure shows a typical system configuration:

Every instance of the OIS server runs on its own hardware or virtual machine. OIS is supplied with the system's status data, which it can also control. A Siveillance Control system consists of two servers – an engineering server and a runtime server. Each of the two servers is connected to one or more OIS instances. Therefore, you have to perform both the Debian and Siveillance Control installation for each of these two servers.
