LMU 2.7 has introduced the dongle CMD.06 with a new feature to save certificates on dongle.
The dongle has in-build memory which is used to store certificate licenses directly on the dongle.
To use the dynamic memory on CMD.06 dongle, the memory must be formatted as mentioned in steps below:
- Make sure that LMS 2.7 is installed.
- Connect CMD.06 Dongle to your machine.
- Start the LMS client.
- Select the Settings from the left Navigation pane.
- In the Settings option, select Dongle Overview.
- In the right pane, under the Actions column at the dongle entry, click on the button “C2V”.
- Save the file on your local machine and send this file to Customer Support.
When you received the V2C file from the LMS support, install the V2C file in LMU as mentioned in steps below:
- Make sure that LMS 2.7 is installed.
- Connect CMD.06 Dongle to your machine.
- Start the LMS client.
- Select the Settings from the left Navigation pane.
- In the Settings option select Dongle Overview.
- In the right pane, select the option Update/Attach.
- Click on Select file button and select the V2C file received from the LMS support.
- Click on Apply File button.
- Please allow some time to upload the file.
- When the dongle is successfully formatted the message is displayed.
Verification of the dynamic memory
- Make sure you have LMS 2.7 installed, which contains LmuTool with memory detection.
- Open CMD in directory with LMS bin files, usually: C:\Program Files\Siemens\LMS\bin.
- Use command: LmuTool /dongles
- When you see in response mentioning "Total Memory", it means that dynamic memory is present on the dongle.
