If the user faces any issue or error with licensing they can run CheckLMS.bat
The CheckLMS.bat script is delivered as part of the LMS installation and automatically installed on every system (in %ProgramFiles%\Siemens\LMS\scripts
) This script collects all the relevant system information and data regarding LMS.
In case your system is not connected to the internet, execute first the steps described in chapter “How to start the script on dark site”. In case our system is connected to the internet you can directly continue with the steps described in “How to start the script on online site”.
How to start the script on dark site
- Execute
CheckLMS.bat /checkdownload
on a machine with LMS installed and make sure internet connection is available.
- The script downloads newest available script, tools, etc. and creates a download zip archive
- Copy the zip archive file (LMSDownloadArchive_XXXXXXX.7z) from
C:\ProgramData\Siemens\LMS
to the machine without internet connection into same folder.
- From the zip file extract newest CheckLMS.bat script and copy them to any folder on the dark site.
- Start the copied CheckLMS.bat on the dark site with administrator privilege. Continue with the steps described in “How to start the script on online site”
How to start the script on online site
- Start checkLMS.bat with administrator privilege.
- The result is an archive LMSLogArchive_XXX.7z, stored in
%ProgramData%\Siemens\LMS
which contains the general log-file LMSStatusReport_XXX.log, stored in%ProgramData%\Siemens\LMS\Logs
(where XXX is replaced with your machine name).
In addition to the collected information as described above, pls provide the following information:
- LMS Version
- Windows platform (operating system)
- Problem description
- Make a full screen screenshot of your LMU license products pane and
- Make a full screen screenshot of your LMU Available features pane and
- DCC license pane
Send the collected information to customer support, as described in section “Customer support”
