Online Activation requires connection to the back office license server through the Internet or Intranet. This function installs the license rights from back office server to the trusted license storage.

Entitlement ID logon is used to activate multiple line items at a time.

Users are able to Logon with their entitlement ID or activation ID, which are given in the e-mail received from LMS.

Tasks

Activate the license using Entitlement ID:

  1. Browse to Activatable Items view.
  1. In Activatable Items (Trusted Store) > select Entitlement ID from the left Navigation pane.
  1. Add Entitlement IDs given in the e-mail received from LMS, in the Entitlement ID text box.
  1. Click on Retrieve Entitlement.
  1. Select licenses to activate (activate check boxes).
    If you activate an entitlement by means of «Dongle Activation» and you select all the licenses and then click «Activate License» LMU displays a confirmation message:
  1. Set start date.
    Note: If start date is not given, it immediately activates the license. To avoid overlaps with a still valid license an activation delay of max. 30 days can be defined.
  1. Click Activate Licenses.
  • If the operation is successful, license(s) will appear in the Licensed Products view. In addition, if the installed product(s) enforce CSID, then the Site ID number appears on the top menu.

Activate the license using Activation ID:

  1. In Activatable Items (Trusted Store) > select Activation ID from the left Navigation pane.
  1. Add Activation IDs given in the e-mail, received from LMS in the Activation ID text box.
  1. Click “Add Activation ID” (repeat step 3-4 for each line item)
  • Line Items appear on the Activatable Items view.
  1. Set the start date.
  1. Check whether you’ve added all activation IDs needed.
  1. Click Activate License.
  • If the operation is successful, license(s) will appear in the Licensed Products view. In addition, if the installed product(s) enforce CSID, then the Site ID number appears on the top menu.

When the license is about to expire

If less than 1 month is left to the expiration date, activate the new one by using the Start Date option:

  1. Check the expiration date of the current license, and
  1. Activate the new one by setting the start date as the next day of the current one.
