Network
- Within a tree topology, you are permitted to have up to 15 ↑ hops from the central network distribution hub to a branch.
- 1GBit hops: up to 50 on fiber optic and copper
- With a ring topology, a minimum of three and a maximum of 30x PN2005 switches are permitted.
- Only the Ethernet switch PN2005 supports ring topology.
'PACE-Bus' (RS485)
- 'PACE-Bus' limits are for one digital audio matrix.
- Do not connect the 'PACE-Bus' to two digital audio matrices.
- The UART speed must be set to 19200 baud.
- A reboot of the host station is necessary if a station ID is used with a different station type.
- Up to 1x PT2003 can be used on the 'PACE-Bus' or
- Up to 1x PT2009 with connected PTO2006 used as emergency call station or
- Up to 8x PT2006 (with 4 different presets) can be used on the 'PACE-Bus' or
- Up to 4x 'PACE-Bus' members can be used on the 'PACE-Bus':
- 4 I/O expander, e.g.: 4x PCIO200x, or 4x PCO200x
- 2x PCIO200x + 1x PT2006 + 1x PT2010
- 4 standard call stations e.g.:4x PT2009 with connected PTO2006, all together with maximum 72 buttons
- 1x PT2009 + 1x PCO200x + 1x PT2010 + 1x PT2006
- Cerberus PACE Compact: 1x PT2003 can be used on the 'PACE-Bus' together with
- 1x I/O expander or
- 1x PT1002 or
- 1x PT2006
- cannot be used together with PT2009
- PT2003 has the same priority as a virtual keypad.
- If a PT2003 is used, the virtual keypad shall not be used for other purposes than the PT2003 functionality.
- Alternatively: take care about the priority of the announcements and take care of triggering SD card files in selected zones by an appropriate configuration.
- PT2003 only supports the following button functions:
- Zone Select
- Select All
- Select None
- Play from SD-card
- Stop Sound
- PT2003: 'Select All' only works if at least one zone key is defined
- PT2009: 'Select All' only works if at least one zone key is defined
- PT2003, PT2009: Microphone monitoring is only possible with one connected microphone PT2003 or PT2009. It will not work correctly if more than one microphone is connected to the same analog audio input
Analog audio output configuration
- Only one local analog audio input is available in the 'mixer panel'.
Program channels
- Program channels shall not be used for evacuation purposes.
'Priority Only' channels
- It is not allowed to set all channels of one amplifier to 'Priority Only'. If so, the connected amplifier will not be supervised as long as no assigned priority channel is active.
- For PC2003: the maximum speaker line load for the internal pilot tone amplifier (sum of all 'Priority Only' channels) is 700 W.
SD card
- No more than one '*.wav' file can be played simultaneously per SD card and per station.
- The channel number of the SD card is restricted to analog audio input 1 (IN1).
- The data block size within a '*.wav' file is restricted to a maximum of 512 bytes.
- In bulk systems, a short sound can be heard in the zones connected to the same amplifier when one of the zones is activated. To avoid this, take one of the following options:
- Add a dead time of 100 ms to the playback.
- Add a time of 200 ms with the level of Zero to the beginning of every '*.wav' - file
- Add a delay of 100 ms at the start of the SD card
- In a digital audio matrix with an integrated SD card, the connected call stations PT2008, PT2003 or PT2009 and the SD card announcement have the same signal priority.
Record buffer
- The record buffer has a max recording time of 60 seconds.
AVC function
- The AVC function can only be used with the PC1001, PC1002, PC2001, PC2003 and PC2005.
- The 'Automated volume control module' PCA2008 can only be connected to the analog audio input 4 (IN4).
EOL3
- Max. 16 EOL3 per amplifier
- Max. 16 EOL3 per speaker line
- Max. 64 EOL3 per digital audio matrix
- EOL3 is supported by PC1001, PC1002, PC2001, PC2002 and PC2003
- The EOL3 search function does not work correctly when an amplifier PV2003 'Power amplifier (4x150W)' is used to power the speaker line.
Loop isolator
- Max. number of loop isolators PCA2005 per amplifier: 80
- 150 W: 80
- 200 W: 80
- 250 W: 80
- 300 W: 80
- 500 W: 80
- Max. number of loop isolators PCA2005 per digital audio matrix PC1001, PC1002 and PC2003: 320
- Max. 80 loop isolators PCA2005 per speaker loop
- Max. 2 speaker loops in one speaker zone per amplifier
- Maximum 200 W in one speaker loop at 100 V continuous sinus signal
- Max audio payload with 80 loop isolators (at 100 V continuous sinus signal):
- 150 W amplifier: 110 W
- 200 W amplifier: 160 W
- 250 W amplifier: 210 W with 2 speaker loops
- 300 W amplifier: 260 W with 2 speaker loops
- 500 W amplifier: 360 W with 2 speaker loops
- Connect a digital audio matrix either only to EOL3 or only to loop isolators. A combination is not allowed.
- PV2002 is not recommended to be used with loop isolators.
- Minimum ↑ tapping* of speaker connected to loop isolator: 0.75 W
- Maximum tapping* of speaker connected to loop isolator: 12 W
- If loud background music is to be played in speaker loops, a low pass filter with 14 kHz 4th order is required.
* Tapping: 100 V speakers have a transformer upstream of the chassis. The transformer has several taps on the primary side, which is where the 100 V speaker line is connected. These taps determine how much power is drawn by the speaker. With a 100 V signal, ceiling speakers typically taps to draw a power of 6 W, 3 W, 1.5 W, or 0.75 W. Halving the electrical power leads to a 3 dB reduction in the analog audio output signal.
Backup control
- Working in combination with local generated test signals on input/output is not supported.
Logic control inputs and outputs
- The 'Test & Quit key' input enables all outputs on the digital audio matrix (firmware version < 1.3.B5 only).
- The 'Remote Logic Input' function is restricted to the first 32 logic control inputs.
- The 'Local Logic Input' function is restricted to the first 32 logic control inputs.
- Outputs for logic operations are restricted to the first 32 logic control inputs.
- 'GP_OUT:' Only 1…32 can be used via the ↑ API.
Analog control inputs
- PC1001, PC1002, PC2003: the analog control inputs of the PCIO200x are displayed as analog inputs 1…8.
- When there is a second PCIO200x on the same 'PACE-Bus', the analog control inputs are displayed as analog inputs 9…15.
- PC2001/2002: the analog control inputs of the PT2010 are displayed as analog inputs 9…15.
'ControlledBy' function of the audio outputs
- Logic control inputs/outputs are restricted to 1…8.
- Analog control inputs 1…15 can be used.
- Analog control input 16 cannot be used.
- Full use of this function cannot be made if a PT2006 is used for the output.
Macros
A recursive macro is a macro that includes another macro within it and calls this other macro.
- It is possible to have a recursive macro that calls a button already assigned to a macro.
- Up to five recursive macro calls are supported.
- Maximum 5 remote EmuKey macros on one key are usable. The local usage is restricted to 10.
- The length of the macro is limited to 100 characters. If this limit is exceeded, this error message appears "would exceed MaxLength of macro".
'ErrorLogging'
- Up to 6550 entries can be stored.
- ↑ RSL is restricted to 512 active stations.
- Only the first 24 inputs can be logged when 'logEvents' is active.
Cerberus PACE Compact
- A pilot tone amplifier is required to enable these features:
- Supervision of switched-off speaker lines (priority only)
- EOL3 line structure detection features (search EOL3, measure impedance, measure 1 kHz VA)
- Multiple speaker lines on an amplifier in bulk zone configuration
- 'PACE-Bus' (RS485) same rules apply as in the 19'' system but with these differences:
- Up to 4x 'PACE-Bus' members are allowed
- Up to 3x I/O expander, e.g.: 3x PCIO200x, or 3x PCO200x
- Up to 2x I/O expander together with PT1002
- 1x PT2003 can be used together with 1x I/O expander or 1x PT1002 or 1x PT2006 (cannot be used together with PT2009)
PACE-Design
- Max. number of stations = 1350
- Max. number of analog audio outputs from stations to amplifiers = 1600
- The cycle time/system latency is permanently set to 1.3 ms.
- The system sampling frequency is 48 kHz.
- Viewing configuration data of protected systems requires a protocol driver that is bound to a local network adapter (no physical connection is required).
- The 'Duplicate Station ID' error can only be resolved by disconnecting one of the components from the network.
- PACE-Design > V1.3.3. Changing a station ID of a station resets it to factory settings to avoid inconsistent configuration settings. This station requires a new configuration.
- '*.wav' files on a SD card will only be played if the logic control inputs have been linked in the SD card dialog.
- If any changes are made in the SD card dialog, the link must be reestablished.
- PACE-Design ≥ V1.3.4: the activation of higher priority SD card files on a channel stops the playing of lower priority files.
- If the higher priority file stops playing, the lower priority file will not be reactivated automatically.
- Station function 'Get SD-Card Directory' does not return all files if number of files on the card exceeds 32 (DSP issue).
- Use the command 'Show Dir' in the 'microSD Card' configuration window to get all files.
- Loading snapshots: a loaded protocol driver bound to a local network adapter is needed in order to view configuration data of protected systems (but no physical link is required).
- System protection: the error messages 'Members Mismatch' (after adding or removing stations) and/or 'Security Mismatch' can be solved manually via the menu 'Extras' > 'System Protection' > 'Members Mismatch'.
