'External UART & Cyclic Settings'

The external serial UART interface supports several protocols. To display cyclic debug information, the default value is set to 'General debugging protocol'.

'Cyclic Settings' for 'PACE-Net'

The most important setting is 'Cyclic Interval'. See chapter 'Change Cyclic Intervals'.

'UART'

The external UART interface supports several serial protocols.

'Enable the external UART'

Used to activate the function of the serial interface.

'UART Speed'

Set the baud rate of the interface. Supported speeds are 9600, 19200 (default), 57600 and 115200. Choose 19200 for all standard application.

'UART Parameters'

Fixed value: no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit

'SysLog Interval'

You can adjust the interval for transmitting data of a cyclic protocol. For example, the 'CSLL protocol' should send the levels more often, so set the time to 100 ms. For the 'RSL protocol', 10 s (10,000 ms) is appropriate.

'UART Protocol'

Choose from various supported serial protocols. Only one protocol can be chosen. A combination of two or more protocols is not supported.

The protocols are not supported by all stations:

  • Matrix: supported by all digital audio matrices
  • PT2001: only supported by PT2001
  • All: supported by all digital audio matrices and PT2001 and PT2002

NOTICE! The information about which station supports the function is displayed in brackets [x] right after the function description.

External Real Time Clock [matrix]

This is an implementation to synchronize the time from an external time provider (GPS clock, DCF77 receiver) to the network participants. The connected device needs to be able to send a 'Meinberg Standard Telegram' in the format:

<STX>D:tt.mm.jj;T:w;U:hh.mm.ss;uvxy<ETX>

It is also mandatory that the connected clock signs the telegram with the “synchronous” flag. Using the DCF77 module C600RS you need to set 'always synchronous'.

PACE-Bus Protocol [matrix]

This protocol is used to communicate with all PACE-Bus (RS485) participants.

Media Control Protocol [matrix]

Used to interface with media control units. Offers an easy-to-use but very flexible way to control the system and read out error states.

PCO2001 Output extension relay (8) [matrix]

If a 'Output extension relay (8)' PCO2001 is connected to the serial interface RS232, choose this protocol.

PTO2001 Keypad Extension [PT2001]

Exclusive for the PT2001-A1 to communicate with the 'Desk call station extension (24 buttons)' PTO2001.

LCD display protocol [matrix]

Specialized protocol to control the station (not available for all station types)

Process the CSLL [all]

This protocol is used to transfer up to 16 volume levels. The CSLL is configured in the 'CSLL UART List' tab.

Process the RSL [all]

This protocol sends the error status of all stations in the Required Station List on a cyclic basis. The RSL is configured in the 'Error Logging, EN 54-16 & RSL' tab.

General debugging or other protocol (internal) [all]

(E.g. system error logging protocol)

These protocols are used for debugging purposes only and have no practical function for the user.
